Glam, Glitz, Sequins and Embellishments. It’s never a dull moment with Electro Pop Duo Miss Defiant and their eclectic clothes say it all. Image – is everything. Sometimes occasionally spotted at the PPQ show during London Fashion Week the perfect fusion of music and fashion goes well with their signature understated style.
The former Welsh RCA graduate was previously at the helm of Givenchy in Paris where he honed his craft and talent. Julien is a big name in British fashion and internationally working with Debenhams for a diffusion line STAR by Julien Macdonald to founding his own mainline label with countless A-list clientele who favour his designs from Supermodels to Celebrity Artist.
Julien Macdonald presents showstopping collections with every party outfit you could ever want just in time for the Oscars and Awards Season
His signature style is very much couture influenced with 70’s inspired silhouettes remembering the golden days of Disco reminds me also of Dynasty from the power dressing attitude days of strong confident women who appreciate the finer things in life.
Each collection is beautifully made and every fine detail you see in a garment reflects his skilled craftsmanship of couture techniques from intricate beading, sequins to Swarovski crystals, to diamante that gleam and shimmer in the blink of an eye is hard to go unnoticed.
Every season, Julien comes up with new innovative collections with every party dress you could ever want and just in time for the Oscars and awards season.
The collection was inspired by Surrealism and the metropolis landscape by Fritz Lang as models emerged down the catwalk.
You can expect high octane glamour from Julien Macdonald who brings to London’s catwalk this season all the excitement as it unfolds with Victoria’s Secret Model Leomi Anderson walking in the show. It was my first time attending one of Julien’s shows and what a great pleasure it was to see his work during London Fashion Week month. Here’s what was on show yesterday afternoon and the venue that hosted the event was gold inside too just like a palace off a film set helped create the mood for the catwalk.
Menswear pieces stood out with gun metal detail embellishments on garments to create a second skin Armour effect was shown alongside Julien Macdonald’s Womenswear Collection was exuberantly cool.
Here’s a pre – show snap before the show to see for yourself. Julien’s collection is always one to look forward to every season so expect glamour and glitz nonetheless. I loved the atmosphere at the show today and was one of my favourite fashion week highlights.

The sport lux details for men were minimal and understated with gothic baroque influences and various textures of knitwear gave it some edge for rock star appeal made for centre stage. Even Men’s tuxedo silhouettes got a makeover fused with sportswear details which made it contemporary for a new look to wear as smart casual luxury. It definitely took men’s party wear to the next level should you be in search of wearing something cool and unique to your next event.
I think it’s time for High Tea this morning don’t you? The red carpets were rolled out and plush velvet boxes awaited ladies and gentlemen in glamorous evening attire for the Aspinal of London Autumn Winter 17 Presentation at Claridges Hotel.
Aspinal AW 17 collection is inspired by the golden age of Theatre.
So today, it appears the new Aspinal AW 17 collection is inspired by the golden age of Theatre and it’s all in the fine details this season. Expect excess nonetheless from the fine British Luxury Leather Brands Group Creative Director Mariya Dykalo.
Recalling a period of elegant theatre and dazzling performances, Aspinal’s team dressed up the Ballroom accordingly to introduce the new collection at London Fashion Week.
On my wish list is the Aspinal x Emma J Shipley limited edition range that features hand embellished art work with 23 carat gold dust and Swarovski detail by Artist Annie Newman. This exclusive new collection is the ideal way to add a little magic and enchanted style to your look. Fabrics become more substantial, color palettes transition to rich hues, and just about every design decision for the season revolves around cultivating a distinct accessories collection for men and women.
It’s all in the fine details…AW 17.
We gathered for a quintessential English High Tea soiree at the Claridges Hotel to celebrate the Aspinal of London Autumn Winter 2017 Collection during their London Fashion Week Presentation.
Art Deco Ballroom set the scene in curating ultimate British Luxury and Timeless Glamour.
Then again, when you think about it the entire world of high fashion is taking something mundane (clothing; we all have to wear it), and turning it into coveted and cutting-edge luxury items.
Let that special someone know you are thinking of them with a gift delivered to their door #AspinalAtHome #MyAspinal.
The quirky and playfulness fun use of personalised lettering were used to spell out a words to form sentence’s on the main Aspinal of London display stage as many guest viewed the spectacular accessories in awe of the golden era of theatre.
I really enjoyed trying out the The Photo Booth which allows you to create a fun GIF video at the party which they email you ready to post on instagram, facebook and twitter on social media. The wall instillation of bags at the presentation were fit for a king or queen as there were many classic and contemporary styles to choose from including an array of different colour’s and textures.
Please take a moment to admire the lovely present from London Fashion Week gifted to me courtesy of Aspinal of London and I’ll be sure to carry this key ring everywhere from the office, out and about to my travels. Who knows I might even for the foreseeable future grow my personal Aspinal of London collection in between – let’s see what I’ll put on my wish list to covet next time round.

If you’re a lover of slightly warmer weather which we’ve been getting lately in London then you’ll agree with me that Sunglasses are the perfect accompaniment to compliment your summer wear attire. It’s definitely one of those must have accessories which you can update infrequent or frequently should a new pair catch your eye. We all have our favourite pair we love the most but I do tend to occasionally like to switch up my style quite a bit when it comes to investing a classic pair of sunglasses. So why not start just here at – The Dunhill Summer Party!

Jim Chapman GQ Editor, Actor Joe Dempsey attend the Dunhill Summer Party!
It’s the Last stop of the evening of my men’s fashion week schedule and saving the best til last to celebrate the launch of their new eye wear collection. The brand hosted an elegant cocktail party! while meanwhile down the street in the Mayfair area another private party was going on at Burberry at the same time.
The Dunhill party tonight is amazing and even better when you bump into familiar faces makes it more fun to catch up with the movers and shakers of the fashionista crowd. Also, the hidden gem of the evening had to be the Dunhill Cinema hidden discreetly in the basement where you could chill out for a brief moment and enjoy a cocktail in peace if you wished. But, it seemed the party got into full swing and well under way with the arrival of Stars Joe Dempsey from Game of Thrones during the LCM presentation. Just some of the snaps from last nights summer party!

Tiger of Sweden S/S 2017 was immaculate with amazing set design replica of the Palace Kunglica Slottet.
Tiger of Sweden’s attitude of modernity vs. classic is brought to life through Sweden’s rich cultural heritage and history for this season.
Here we go again and its now day two at Men’s Fashion Week in London but don’t let the rain put you off. The Tiger of Sweden show is first on my official list of must do fashion week schedule and this one certainly exceeded my expectations as the presentation was immaculate with amazing set design replica of the Palace Kunglica Slottet.
I will never forget the grand regal entrance with baroque opulence this season as Models walked the catwalk to the soundtrack of Medieval tunes with urban break beats. It was a really upbeat show which helped set the mood for the backdrop of the set design. Momentarily you felt as if you were transported back in time to the 17th century. During this period the Architect Nicodemus Tessin based his design for Sweden’s new Royal Palace.
sleek military inspired silhouettes, tailored slim fits and variations on lux sportswear influences.
The collection impressed with sleek military inspired silhouettes, tailored slim fits and variations on lux sportswear influences. Also, the juxtaposition of textile combinations fused with classic tapestry textile fabrics was regal, classic with contemporary look.
It shows tailoring no longer has to be mundane as you can still dress up a suit worn with smart patterned waistcoat over your suit jacket as seen below.
Tiger of Sweden’s signature sharp cuts and great attention to detail.
These details in particular caught my eye such as contemporary and minimal short cropped utilitarian jackets worn with fitted trousers to much more relax loose fits and kick flared pants.
I think the eclectic mix of style blends well as a cohesive collection that mirrors Tiger of Sweden’s signature sharp cuts and great attention to detail.
This season’s collection celebrated the Architects honour of rebuilding the palace through his renaissance designs.
Tiger of Sweden certainly knew how to make an entrance and proclaim its seat of power as the sovereign ruler during LCM.
It was sensational and by the looks of it the front row was filled and it was a full house meant there was a huge round of applause to close the show during the finale walk.

I do admire the spring sartorial styles this season too where even the most discerning best man can indulge and opt for a suit upgrade including a three piece for a Summer Wedding.
“A Modern take on a white classic double breasted suit ready for the poolside at Nikki Beach.”
This modern take on a classic suit seems so sleek with minimal structuring for comfort so style yours with a basic black tee for a relaxed resort look. I’m often quite spontaneous when it comes to vacation plans for a last minute getaway bearing in mind what travel essentials to pack. From previewing the new collection these are my current favourites so far such as a signature Ivory linnen blazer and the zespa trainers are on my IT list to covet this summer, not forgetting a good pair of shades to travel in style.
This season the Hardy Amies Menswear collection was adapted for versatile looks with a nod towards formal shirts being replaced with t-shirts worn under tailoring made it contemporary for the modern gentleman’s attire taking you from day into night. It seemed the heritage brand wanted to break away from tradition and target a younger discerning clientele to appeal to a new generation. If so, I definitely am all for it as I felt Amies SS 2017 collection pictured the ideal setting for a jolly jaunt on the French Riviera.
A sophisticated sleek monochromatic collection consist of tailored pieces with fitted silhouette shapes and sharp lapels to loose structured outerwear garments for S/S 2017.
