Oui je t’aime Pari, a Bonjour from me in Paris for Couture Fashion Week, it’s my first time during the shows in the city so excited to see how it compares to London. It’s all about the morning cuisine and nothing does it better than starting your day with fancy coffee and croissants and who can forget the fois gras so you feel right at home in Paris. The last time I was here it was for a Christmas shopping trip for a long weekend break, but this time Fashion Week is a real treat for me.

DAY 1

I have arrived yesterday in Paris ready for the Rani Zakhem Couture show today! The plane journey from London Gatwick to Charles de Gaulle Airport was a short flight and you know Paris was even more beautiful once you get there, If you ever get to visit in Summer, there is so much culture to immerse yourself in the Parisian Chic vibes of this cosmopolitan city. All dressed up in a smart casual outfit I made my way to the shows of Paris Couture Fashion Week with an UBERX Luxury Car courtesy of the UBER Taxi App in France.

Day Two of the 2nd  leg at Paris Fashion Week started with 28 degrees Fahrenheit, that remind’s me it’s almost time for my UBER X car pick up soon.

My outfit was all about smart casual separates, statement sunglasses, comfortable suede footwear and leather jacket.

Please, take a moment and admire my favourite designer shades “Parisian Chic” – we all have our go to brands for effortless style

The day ended with a sumptuous lunch at The Peninsula Hotel on George V and the finest French Taittinger Champagne on the hotels roof top bar to Celebrate PFW

Arrived in Style with UBER X with a view of the Eifel Tower this evening on the way, I was wearing a full black and white look with minimal sleek details from DKNY and Ralph Lauren for the evening Fashion Week Event.

WHAT IT’S REALLY LIKE BEING A BLOGGER IN PARIS | A DAY IN THE LIFE AT COUTURE FASHION WEEK

Paris is the original birth place of the Haute Couture Houses from Dior, Vionet to Chanel and there always seems to be an expectation of Paris to be very stylish from a Fashion point of view.

It was such an honour to be invited personally to attend a catwalk show in Paris especially as a blogger as I was wondering if I was the only one from London and would there be anyone else I knew here to keep me company. The Paris Fashion Scene is very new to me but really impressed by the high standards and presentation of such Fashion Designer’s Rani Zakhem as he debuted his Haute Couture Autumn Winter 2018/19 collection to the International press, style influencers and celebrities.

PARIS HAUTE COUTURE FASHION WEEK

It was such an honour to be invited personally to attend a catwalk show in Paris especially as a blogger as I was wondering if I was the only one from London and would there be anyone else I knew here to keep me company. The Paris Fashion Scene is very new to me but really impressed by the high standards and presentation of such Fashion Designer’s Rani Zakhem as he debuted his Haute Couture Autumn Winter 2018/19 collection to the International press, style influencers and celebrities. As soon as I arrived I just couldn’t wait to explore the city on foot and be immersed in a city full of culture and intrigue.

In Paris the fashion show production efforts made is just on another level with all the fine details, polished floors to the beautiful grade II listed buildings set the standard very high during fashion week here.

Atelier Rani Zakhem is a Couturier Fashion Designer based in Lebanon but has showcased his work in the fashion capitals such as London, Rome and most notably Paris for his collections each season.

Even during the shows the Press Team from the French PR Agency have usher’s that walk you over to your assigned seat which is great hospitality. But in London this rarely even happens as you have to navigate your seat on your own and a tight squeeze for space so it’s always good to give yourself plenty of time before the shows. For me it was very special to see it up close as sometimes it can take up to two years to produce a new collection for some Couture Houses is a known fact.

Zakhem returns this season with a vibrant and sparkling tribute to the combating and combative woman, Amazone of all jungles and Glamazonian, seductive when like a warrior goddess, she appears in her crystal armour.

A look on the Runway during the Rani Zakhem show

Signature Pieces in the Collection

My favourite looks that came down the Runway included a piece in the collection such as the black spencer jacket with red black and gold crystals in clusters on an incendiary sheath or on the sleeves looked very classic.

Themes for this collection explore the poetry of an imaginary jungle where Rani Zakhem envisions his muse as the glamazone and delicate guardian of a paradise.

In celebration of this nature there was a feeling of dark romance that had a spellbinding effect in a crinoline creation, fluttering black tulle with scattering of crystals evoking a spider in its precious cobweb.

What I admired about the collection most is that it represents women who appear, strong, but sensual where authority appertains to her and lives in her evidently with elegance. Subtle references from Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan and Azzedine Alaia punctuate the couture vocabulary of Rani Zakhem, between a Saharienne detail, a draped moulage, the powerful minimalism of a white dress enhanced by a slight ornament to create a dream worthy wedding dress. Apparently couture fashion week is where all the wedding dress trends are born to embody each season by a new muse of the moment.

If you ever have the chance to attend Fashion Week in Paris I highly recommend it as it’s a place of culture and the centre of fashion where all the latest ground breaking trends happen.

PARIS FASHION WEEK SKINCARE DIARY | TIP’S TO REFRESH YOUR GROOMING KIT ON THE GO

GET TO KNOW MY SKINCARE ROUTINE OVER COUTURE PARIS FASHION WEEK - CLARIN'S REVIEW

By Posted on 0 Comments Location: 3min read1055 views

As Summer is already underway I’m back! This time I’ve got some exciting news to share with you all that I have a last minute invitation to attend Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week next week.

From personal experience of traveling to a new city can be very exciting as well as daunting so what to take and pack needs careful thought for those of us that follow a strict beauty and grooming regime.

Paris Fashion Week Skincare Diary

Personally I quite like the idea of being pampered and taking some of my favourite things with me along for the journey so it makes life that little bit more easier being away from home which leaves me to dwell on fashion week.

When traveling to other cities you are in fact living out of a suitcase so I always look forward to trying new products during my trip especially if you manage to get sponsored by one of world’s leading beauty and grooming cosmetics companies Clarins Paris.

Allot of the time I find with cosmetics I like to use both Men’s and Women’s products as long as it does what it says on the tin to certain degree don’t you think. At times we all need to prep our skin so we can ensure we look our best with fashion week being no exception. Achieving flawless looking skin does not happen overnight but with the right products you can achieve your goal. Always set a bench mark of what you expect your skin to look like before and after.

Here’s what’s in my bag

Paris Fashion Week Skincare Diary

Often whilst traveling your skin suffers from dehydration and looks very tired and unflattering but its helps to choose products that help lift, re-vitalise, cleanse and re-energises for a fresh appearance complexion.

As soon as you get to your hotel and unpack I enjoy getting out my travel size grooming products on the bathroom counter so everything looks organised and makes you feel more at home while your away traveling abroad.

Lucky for me this bag is my lifeline to survive fashion week in Paris as these grooming and beauty products happen to French too seems a coincidence that I’m in Paris. For the next 3 days it’s more than enough to last me the whole trip and a bit more.

In case you’re wondering which is my favourite item which has to be the One Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser with hints of citrus and micro-beads that penetrate deep into the skin works really well as a skin scrub to remove any dirt and blackheads. I just love the way it smells with an orange scent of summer is just fresh and so clean on the pores of my skin.

SHOP MY FASHION WEEK SKINCARE ROUTINE

I heard the weather is going to be very warm in Paris so protecting your face from the sun is crucial for younger looking skin and Clarin’s has a product just for that a Super Restorative Day cream with SPF as soon as you step outside. Another favourite is the Clarins extra firming eye cream as some days your eyes need that feeling of being refreshed after a long day and night. Beauty sleep is the next best thing as skin needs to renew their cells and happens during your sleep apparently. On second thought’s during Fashion Week it’s hard to find rest breaks in between shows and events so any products that help you achieve your skins full potential the better.

What I love most about Clarin’s it’s a family owned business which has been a leading French Skincare brand expert since 1954.

Which is your favorite Clarins Paris product and please feel free to comment below this post so others can share feedback about these amazing products.

Disclaimer: A huge thank you to Clarins Paris UK and the team at Elphicks 1881 for kitting me out with my grooming and beauty essentials during my Trip in Paris over Haute Couture Fashion Week. All opinions are my own and I will never promote something I don’t personally use and believe in

EAST MAMMA – THE BEST ITALIAN TRATTORIA IN PARIS

By Posted on 0 Comments Location: 2min read1533 views

During my visit to Paris during Fashion Week I’ve been here with friends and the food is really great and freshly prepared. East Mamma is a laid back Italian restaurant often referred to as a Neapolitan Style Trattoria serving the most authentic Italian Food which you’ll find situated at Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine in the Bastille district of Paris. I would definitely say that ‘Pizza in this place is just divine, but more on that in just a moment…..

If you’re a fan of authentic Italian food you will find exceptional food and friendly service at East Mamma Restaurant which is very popular on the Parisian Scene with the locals too. East Mamma is part of the Big Mamma Restaurant group and serves the most exquisite dishes from Fresh Pasta, Pizza, Salads to sumptuous Deserts.

During my dinner I decided to try their Pizza Napoletana Red Hot Burrata which comes with a spicy tomatoes sauce, hot sausage and topped with plenty of Mozzarella cheese for texture.  If you like pasta I would highly recommend the Gnocchi Alla Sorrentina served with fresh tomatoes, basil and mozzarella. All portions of food served is a very large size suitable for 2 people to share which is very filling.

The great news is that this fantastic Italian restaurant cuisine is closer to home than you think with the Italian Style eating establishment from the Big Mamma Group has opened Gloria in Shoreditch so expect a queues outside during peak hours  as rumour has it they don’t take reservations.

Address: 133 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine, 75011 Paris, France
