How to Wear Tweed Jackets this Spring - A Reason to love Vintage Clothing

By Posted on 0 Comments Location: 2 min read 407 views

Ways to Wear Tweed Jackets this spring and Casual Separates. Looking for inspiration this weekend so what better way to pass the time like rummage through my closet for something suitable to wear as I packed for the weekend in the home countie. A visit to the country sounds ideal and who knows with this weather we might be lucky. And so, as it happens I found an interesting vintage piece blazer I forgot I never had so I thought it would be great to revive an old time classic favourite tweed. It’s fine cloth is made in England by Harris Tweed by the way and I love so much as we are yet to transition from spring into summer. Well, that’s until the weather improves to say the least as I can’t wait til it gets warms again and we can enjoy the new season.

What I wore: Products Featured were Hat by Hat Attack Collaboration for DKNY, Sunglasses Prada, Vintage Tweed Blazer Urban Outfitters London, Casual Seperates by H & M long sleeve crew neck burgundy tee, Topman Denim Black skinny jeans, ASOS Beige Desert Boots, DKNY Black Felt Parachute Backpack

A great statement piece such as a blazer can make all the difference to dress up a casual weekend look worn with a long-sleeve crew neck t-shirt and a pair of skinny denim jeans. My favourite accessories are firstly sunglasses as they give it that edge and the right hat too in this instance it’s a pork pie hat keeps the look retro. Lastly, to finish off the look a parachute bag accessory like this one I’m wearing is modern and minimalist keeps the overall look contemporary

Hey! Guys I’m just reminding you its Awards Season with Fashion Week just around the corner I bet you’re really excited just as I am to attend any of the private events which are often very exclusive by invitation only. I’ve just returned recently from a long weekend in Italy to attend Men’s Fashion Week in Milan so it feels great to be back and catch up on the latest. Let’s begin with everyone’s favourite topic who’s wearing what to the EE Rising Star Bafta Award’s 2020 and which event’s are happening before the Awards Night this weekend.

Various Lifestyle Brand’s were also known to have hosted their own private soirees such as Chanel, Atelier Swarovski, Dunhill London and more. Most, importantly what did I get up to Pre-Bafta Awards About Town this Week as I had the pleasure of attending an Exclusive invitation with Perrier Jouet Champagne x Don’t Die Wondering at Ella Canta Park Lane.

But, before telling you about what I wore to the event I just thought I’d mention that Don’t Die Wondering is an exclusive member’s club for high net worths and influencers in the luxury, music, film, art and fashion industries.

The exclusive service is available by application only and includes the crème de la crème of Hollywood A-list, industry veterans and highly acclaimed influencers as member’s. Lucky for me I got insider access to experience it firsthand and had the most wonderful time as it was my first Pre-Bafta bash this season as a style insider and I’m sure it won’t be my last the perks of being an influencer certainly has it’s advantages.

Especially when attending event’s what you wear on the Red Carpet is crucial to expressing your own style and confidence but sometimes you’re often found with a challenge with what options to wear. So, here’s my opinion on Menswear Style Pre-Bafta Style vs the Actual Awards night.

Firstly, Black Tie does not have to mean a full tuxedo and bow tie, that’s for Awards night, but for a Pre-Bafta Dinner for instance Chanel some male Celebrities wore a classic white dress shirt and black neck tie which has been seen spotted on George Clooney, Jude Law etc looks more relaxed but still sartorially sharp and edgy vs traditional black tie. That’s what kind of look I went for during the other night in a Polo Ralph Lauren White Dress Shirt, Black Silk Gucci Neck tie, formal Blazer and non matching skinny trousers by Zara Man and Shoes H&M. Sometimes a bit of contrast in your evening attire can make things looks overall flawless. Let me know your thoughts on this look.

During the first day of our press trip my outfit for day one consisted being dressed in all monochrome which is usually my signature style day to day. In true Florentine style in homage to Pitti Uomo 97 I opted for a statement tailored winter coat made from the finest Italian fabric.

I felt I blended right in doing street style pictures to capture the moment being in Firenze. I needed to feel super comfy but still smart casual as most of the day was being spent on planes, buses, trains and taxis. But, just imagine lugging round a suitcase and my weekend bag between destinations.  Honestly Italy is so full of culture, history and the local people are so warm and welcoming here for which I am so grateful.

Outfit dilema’s – I realised when I got there for the first time in my life I had under packed even though it was a short trip. Who’d have thought my blogger peers who are reading this will laugh at this. I’m known for bringing ten times the amount I need. I didn’t have a proper outfits planned for my daytime wears so I put this together last minute. I wanted something smart casual and slightly formal for evening dinner with of course a hint of classic oxford button down shirt from Polo Ralph Lauren paired with a All Saint’s Crew Neck Sweater.

I hadn’t packed enough clothes, so off Jen and I go on a little fashionista shopping trip to Gigli Shopping Mall down the road from our Hotel in a 10 minute taxi journey. I wore my comfy shoes again because I knew we would be walking around a lot! I opted for a faux suede Derby, Gibson bucks shoe by H & M which is a classic favourite.

From Pisa to Prato – here I’m wearing brands from the high street to designer which I also paired some skinny jeans and shoes with the outfit too. The first two photos are taken in Firenze Florence.

Art Hotel Museo in Prato – Such a beautiful place and I can’t thank them enough for putting us up here a couple of nights for the first part of our trip to experience local food, culture, wine and cuisine in Tuscany was a very unforgettable stay we loved it here very much.

Disclosure: #AD A huge special thanks to Art Hotel Museo Italy for kindly sponsoring our stay and for the amazing hospitality in Prato – this was a paid partnership collaboration with the hotel brand. Also I would like to Thank ryanair.com for sponsoring my return flights itinerary between Pisa, Milan and London during Camera Moda Milano Men’s Fashion Week and to both companies for making this trip possible.  All Opinions Expressed will be my own and prices quoted in this article will be subject to change by the companies mentioned e.g. ryanair.com and Art Hotel Museo.

When I first heard that the Italian Fashion Label was hosting a private event during London Fashion Week I knew it was going to be a great party to kick off the start of fashion week.  Having attended the very first Iceberg Catwalk show in London since it made a comeback it was definitely one of those labels to watch. Also, I’m such a big fan of their Street Wear since the label was taken over at the helm from Designer James Long their newly appointed creative director from the UK.  On Friday 13th Yes!! – I know what most were thinking in case anyone is superstitious it happened to be my lucky day as they had food catering from my favourite Meat Liquor Restaurant – just trying their burgers was delicious as I was feeling very hungry by 6pm while out and about accompanied by Aperol Spritz drinks served throughout the evening.  My outfit staple to the party yesterday evening was my signature leather jacket from Iceberg worn with a white t-shirt from Boohoo Man and Skinny Jeans with a pair of desert boots as it’s officially autumn season.  The Iceberg event was hosted at the  18montrose store in Kings Cross featuring DJ set’s from Tommy Gold, Jordss and Lifestyle Donald who entertained the crowd last night
