GETTING READY FOR GOODWOOD REVIVAL | MEN’S DRESS CODE

STYLED & FITTED IN TWEED BY DESIGNER ELOISE GREY

Goodwood Revival

#MyRevival

Who can forget the smell of engines with the roar of iconic race cars. Experience a thrilling three day festival celebrating the halcyon days of motor racing and vintage style

I remember my first ever visit to Goodwood Revival because it was so memorable. Also, it was an opportunity to take a nostalgic trip down memory lane and experience vintage clothing and costume from a bygone era at its finest.

Goodwood Revival

Revival fashion on the day tells the story of fashion throughout the revival era. You can re-live it all from the evolution of the hemline, how men’s iconic style changed from nineteen forty eight to nineteen sixty six and the sub culture phenomenon of the Teenager.

So excited I’m collaborating with Tweed Jacket Designer Eloise Gray for my fitting to get ready for Goodwood Revival today and really looked forward to attending this year’s event.

“Revival Fashion #GoodWoodStyle”

While I was here I got to have a bit of wonder to see what was going on from vintage clothing stalls, food pop-ups, street performance singing quartets to the Goodwood circuit track to check out the vintage classic cars.

The memorable highlights of the day were close racing, tight overtakes, roaring engines, screeching cross-plys, spitfires flying overhead to various vintage outfits and stores.

Who could forget the Revival Greats from the legendary cars highlights from Jaguar E-Types, Ferrari 250 GTOs to Lister Knobblys, Alfa Romeo 1600 Guilia GTAa and Shelby Daytona Coupes.

Travel through time in Style at this years Goodwood Revival

Goodwood Revival always stars some of the motorsports greatest cars ever invented throughout history just for all you car and automobile enthusiast.

It was a spectacular day out and I got to wear an amazing tweed suit from talented UK Ethical Fashion Designer Eloise Grey on the day. Tweed is very much in style these days and the only thing I own is from Harris Tweed Made in Britain which is a classic statement piece. Also, works well when you pair it with other items in your closet like a trilby and nice brogues perhaps. I had the most stupendous weekend playing dress up, fashion shows and trying swing dancing was great fun with friends at Goodwood Revival. It was an opportunity to travel through style in time and make some new nostalgic memories. I’ll see you there next year!

Editorial Disclaimer: A huge thank you to Eloise Grey Designs for hosting me for the Press Preview during their Pop-Up Store. As always, all opinions are my own and I will never promote something I don’t personally use or would wear myself for accurate feedback.

WHAT IT’S REALLY LIKE BEING A BLOGGER IN PARIS | A DAY IN THE LIFE AT COUTURE FASHION WEEK

Paris is the original birth place of the Haute Couture Houses from Dior, Vionet to Chanel and there always seems to be an expectation of Paris to be very stylish from a Fashion point of view.

It was such an honour to be invited personally to attend a catwalk show in Paris especially as a blogger as I was wondering if I was the only one from London and would there be anyone else I knew here to keep me company. The Paris Fashion Scene is very new to me but really impressed by the high standards and presentation of such Fashion Designer’s Rani Zakhem as he debuted his Haute Couture Autumn Winter 2018/19 collection to the International press, style influencers and celebrities.

PARIS HAUTE COUTURE FASHION WEEK

It was such an honour to be invited personally to attend a catwalk show in Paris especially as a blogger as I was wondering if I was the only one from London and would there be anyone else I knew here to keep me company. The Paris Fashion Scene is very new to me but really impressed by the high standards and presentation of such Fashion Designer’s Rani Zakhem as he debuted his Haute Couture Autumn Winter 2018/19 collection to the International press, style influencers and celebrities. As soon as I arrived I just couldn’t wait to explore the city on foot and be immersed in a city full of culture and intrigue.

In Paris the fashion show production efforts made is just on another level with all the fine details, polished floors to the beautiful grade II listed buildings set the standard very high during fashion week here.

Atelier Rani Zakhem is a Couturier Fashion Designer based in Lebanon but has showcased his work in the fashion capitals such as London, Rome and most notably Paris for his collections each season.

Even during the shows the Press Team from the French PR Agency have usher’s that walk you over to your assigned seat which is great hospitality. But in London this rarely even happens as you have to navigate your seat on your own and a tight squeeze for space so it’s always good to give yourself plenty of time before the shows. For me it was very special to see it up close as sometimes it can take up to two years to produce a new collection for some Couture Houses is a known fact.

Zakhem returns this season with a vibrant and sparkling tribute to the combating and combative woman, Amazone of all jungles and Glamazonian, seductive when like a warrior goddess, she appears in her crystal armour.

A look on the Runway during the Rani Zakhem show

Signature Pieces in the Collection

My favourite looks that came down the Runway included a piece in the collection such as the black spencer jacket with red black and gold crystals in clusters on an incendiary sheath or on the sleeves looked very classic.

Themes for this collection explore the poetry of an imaginary jungle where Rani Zakhem envisions his muse as the glamazone and delicate guardian of a paradise.

In celebration of this nature there was a feeling of dark romance that had a spellbinding effect in a crinoline creation, fluttering black tulle with scattering of crystals evoking a spider in its precious cobweb.

What I admired about the collection most is that it represents women who appear, strong, but sensual where authority appertains to her and lives in her evidently with elegance. Subtle references from Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan and Azzedine Alaia punctuate the couture vocabulary of Rani Zakhem, between a Saharienne detail, a draped moulage, the powerful minimalism of a white dress enhanced by a slight ornament to create a dream worthy wedding dress. Apparently couture fashion week is where all the wedding dress trends are born to embody each season by a new muse of the moment.

If you ever have the chance to attend Fashion Week in Paris I highly recommend it as it’s a place of culture and the centre of fashion where all the latest ground breaking trends happen.

SUPERDRY LAUNCHES SUMMER SESSIONS LIVE MUSIC CONCEPT WITH EMERGING ARTIST FROM THE MUSIC INDUSTRY

#SUPERDRYSOUNDS

Superdry revealed their latest lifestyle concept last night by launching a successful music showcase with Emerging Music Artist known as Superdry Summer Sessions featuring Aaron Unknown, Timmy Xu to a Live DJ set by Sam Blacky.

The Superdry Brand was founded by Julian Dunkerton in Gloucestershire and has since been going strong since 1985 bringing its blend of vintage Americana and Japanese graphic inspired clothing to the mass market.

It was the perfect platform to promote music artist by collaborating with a renowned lifestyle brand such as Superdry which has a world wide international mass appeal to connect with its audiences. This is my first hand experience of seeing the brand incorporating music and fashion as a Lifestyle Brand which I fully support and encourage because I am a huge fan of live music and new talent.

Superdry

When I arrived for the event at their flagship store I was curious to see the set up of the party as I’ve heard Superdry have hosted a Mens Fashion Week party for LCM: London Collections Men previously inside. As I make my way up to second floor I’m led by the friendly staff to a discreet entrance staircase leading to the stores top floor. I could not believe it, but they converted the whole of the shop floor into a pop-up nightclub complete with bars, sound stage and DJ-Booth was very least expected, but cool at the same time.

Superdry

Upon arrival there was a prosecco wine reception and warm greeting by the PR reps and information about all the live acts on the landyards before heading to the dance floor equip with sound stage for tonights performances. The turnout at the venue was really huge and the fashionista crowd settled in well with a few drinks from the complimentary bar.

What I love most about fashion parties is bumping into familiar faces makes it more fun and great to catch up over some great music which reminds me its Coachella shortly. And I’m afraid its #Nochella as I can’t go but there are going to be some great music festivals this summer closer to home.

MARY BENSON X RELENTLESS ENERGY DRINK LIVE GRAFFITI STREET ARTIST COLLABORATION

It’s that time of year again when we can all look forward to the beginning of summer starting with music festival season as renowned Lifestyle Brand Relentless Energy Drinks will most likely be lending their name to major sporting events, festivals and now street style fashion.

Relentless Energy Drink collaborates with British Fashion Designer Mary Benson for a pop-up store launch in the west end and I got to see the exclusive preview of her latest work.

Mary Benson launched her debut collection with Fashion East in 2014 where she was awarded the prestigious TOPSHOP Sponsorship for AW2015 a great accolade in the designers career. It was my firsthand experience of coming across the label and I love discovering new designer brands at Fashion Week.

This season Mary returns with an exclusive line of unisex vinyl and screen printed street wear which were on show during the launch night. Graffiti adorned the walls of the event alongside the pieces from the collection which were quirky and fun evoked street style sub culture with an onsite Street Artist creating live art work.

Last July marked the designers second major milestone to move into the space of online retail with the labels very own stand alone e-commerce store.

In the past Mary Benson has collaborated with ASOS releasing an exclusive shoe and accessories collection last year with an event in associate with Hackney Walk and Stitch Academy.

OFF-WHITE FASHION LABEL X ARTIST TAKASHI MURAKAMI COLLABORATE FOR SOLO ART EXHIBITION

THE PRIVATE PREVIEW AT GAGOSIAN GALLERY LONDON

On the eve of London Fashion it’s not uncommon to see large crowds queuing down the street especially for a fashion show or event.

Today is the opening reception and private view of ‘Future History’ by legendary Artist Takashi Murakami in collaboration with exclusive fashion label OFF-WHITE by designer Virgil Abloh exhibits in London.

Street wear fans of OFF-WHITE and the Artist gathered to view the exclusive works of art at the Mayfair Gallery.

If you’re a fan of street style subcultures, contemporary and graffiti style art work drop on by, but just to give you a heads up there might be a long queue or if you can get on the VIP list it might just be your lucky day.

Sometimes it’s great to take in some inspiration especially if it’s great works of art and I wanted to take a moment to have break from the catwalk shows during London Fashion Week to relax.

Here’s what’s on show at the exhibition so come down and see for yourself. It’s just like that book I read at University NO LOGO by Naomi Klein what is the value of brands and how doe’s popular culture influence us in society.

OFF-WHITE

Whether Art or Fashion the message is clearly intended to draw the viewers in that we must buy into popular culture in order to be part of something big.

Off-White is a creative collective or at least now an art, fashion and music movement with a huge following on social media. For those that have not heard of Off-White it’s currently the cult street wear label of the moment and lifestyle brand getting lots of media attention for it’s exclusive collaborations.

BRITISH SUPERMODEL KATE MOSS DEBUT’S NEW CAPSULE COLLECTION FOR HIGH STREET RETAIL GIANT RESERVED CLOTHING

The Celebrity Fashion Collaboration everybody is talking about on the British High Street makes its 1st debut in London for its official store opening and launch this Fall

#ReservedForMe #ReservedForUs

Today I had a very early start as I made my way into central London to celebrate the new launch of Kate Moss’s exclusive clothing range in collaboration with High Street Polish Retailer Reserved. I have been looking forward to this all week which was very exciting to attend an event like this on a large scale when a new brand gets introduced to the UK High Street.

Also I do like discovering new brands too to include to my everyday style staples in my closet as we are now in September when the weather transitions into autumn and before long it gets colder again during Winter.

Reserved Clothing

The Brands clothing range lucky for me includes Menswear too, but the focus today was primarily around the Women’s range designed by Kate Moss for Reserved Clothing.

I do admire the brands aesthetic as it appeals to me being very minimal and contemporary with a premium feel to it. Observing the apparel pieces in terms of quality would be similar to the price range of Zara for Trend pieces.

“Meant to be worn Made to be liked”

There was a great atmosphere in store today surrounding all the buzz and publicity about the brand and promoting Kate Moss’ new line to the masses proved very popular amongst fashion fans and loyal followers of the Reserved Clothing label.

What do you think about it so far, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the new range of ready to wear pieces for both Men & Women. In my opinion personal favourites will have to be tailored pieces such as the Blazers which is the most versatile staple you can wear with anything to dress up or create a smart casual outfit.

Reserved Clothing

Rocker Dandy inspired pieces include signature leather jackets for Menswear for a polished outfit.

For the launch today I decided to wear a monochrome look which is simple but yet still understated to make a style statement and still look polished was exactly the look I was going for to capture the moment.

Kate Moss Presents Ready to Wear collection’ X RESERVED

The onsite photo booth was quite fun to snap photo’s for social media so you could create a giff video clip to add to your social media on instagram which is always good to promote the brand and show support for their outreach campaign.

Kate Moss x Reserved Clothing Launch

I really enjoyed today and it was also nice to see familiar faces and fellow Bloggers to catch up and celebrate the launch together. It’s was such an honour to attend the event with a personal invite from the in-house PR in Warsaw to come along and celebrate this special occasion in the presence of Style Icon Kate Moss. The Press and Style Influencer’s were in full force to attend this soiree celebration for Supermodel Kate Moss with guest DJ’Set from Mollie King ‘The Saturdays’, Model and Presenter Laura Whitmore to warm up the crowd. We took to the Reserved Rooftop for sumptuous cocktails and canapés for some chill time to mingle with familiar faces and be in the presence of our favourite British Style Icon was a great event overall.
