When I first heard that the Italian Fashion Label was hosting a private event during London Fashion Week I knew it was going to be a great party to kick off the start of fashion week.  Having attended the very first Iceberg Catwalk show in London since it made a comeback it was definitely one of those labels to watch. Also, I’m such a big fan of their Street Wear since the label was taken over at the helm from Designer James Long their newly appointed creative director from the UK.  On Friday 13th Yes!! – I know what most were thinking in case anyone is superstitious it happened to be my lucky day as they had food catering from my favourite Meat Liquor Restaurant – just trying their burgers was delicious as I was feeling very hungry by 6pm while out and about accompanied by Aperol Spritz drinks served throughout the evening.  My outfit staple to the party yesterday evening was my signature leather jacket from Iceberg worn with a white t-shirt from Boohoo Man and Skinny Jeans with a pair of desert boots as it’s officially autumn season.  The Iceberg event was hosted at the  18montrose store in Kings Cross featuring DJ set’s from Tommy Gold, Jordss and Lifestyle Donald who entertained the crowd last night

With the all important summer social events and invitations coming all at once it’s hard to tell if we can get it right first time with the exception of Polo In The Park and Henley. Dressing to impress is a must where not only the elite rowing contest take centre stage but so does style. Read my recent blog post on Regatta Style from the Celebrities to the Spectators with who’s wearing what this year and where to be scene at the After Parties. We observe the movers and shakers of the rowing crowd, also the elite fashion veterans take on style.

It’s a known fact guys hate shopping, but in fact it’s quite the opposite when it comes to summer social event’s, even the debonair man needs to look his best. From experience I learn what suits best and give my recommendations for outfits and how to wear them by including these in your daily style edit.

Why not take an optimistic approach to colour and pairing your outfit with a bold statement set of bright trousers and the contrast of colours from red, green and yellow which are available to purchase from the high street to designer labels. These are worth investing in especially if you’re looking at brightening up that essential summer wardrobe.

Fitted shirt styles from Ralph Lauren are always great because they come in a variety of classic styles in the white button down collared shirt to pastel shades and bold stripes in blue. Then finish off the look with a neutral seer sucker style blazer to even out the contrast of shades. A Seer Sucker blazer is unlined, so designed to keep you cool during the hot summer months at event occasions.

With the English social calendar upon us we focus our attention towards stylish sporting events from the Varsity Polo, Polo in the Park to Henley Royal Regatta.

For this look at Polo In The Park, I decided to keep it neutral as being a non rower I felt I had to express an identity of my own. With summer you can’t go wrong and what better way to do this is to keep it neutral with a classic Ralph Lauren seersucker blazer but still include a splash of colour as you find the contrast helps bring out the best of both shades. Even by adding the slightest finishing touches to a look such as a colour coordinated pocket square by Forever 21 to tailored jackets can overall emphasize the best features of the whole outfit’s attire.

Looking for the perfect summer shoes can depend on the softness, texture and comfort to make it easier to walk on the lawn and inside the marquee enclosures. A slip on suede loafer in tan or dark brown rather than leather shoes helps the foot breathe more freely during the spring summer season.

Finally, your accessories choice can either create a luxury feel of sophistication or fail by choosing unsuitable items. You can’t go wrong with skinny belts in brown is minimal. Less is more. One of my personal favourites is a preppy style collegiate belt in dark navy with diagonal red stripes.

It’s so great to be back at London Fashion Week again to view the new seasons collections for ready to wear womenswear as one of my favourite British Designers Henry Holland of The House of Holland debuts his Autumn Winter 19 collection ‘Global Citizen’ on the runway. There’s always a great buzz surrounding his shows including the people watching and the who’s who of the fashion world come together to support Henry an amazing British talent which we are so lucky to see his work every shown each season during LFW.

On another note I could not decide what to wear today prior to show day and when I was informed there would be an after party later in the evening it was a wise decision to wear something more fancy for the occasion as you do. For launch event’s there’s that saying as you can never be too overdressed but in which case always make sure it’s practical, but still understated. I think less is more to make a style statement that will make an impression so you exude confidence when attending an event like London Fashion Week.

The show itself was an evening time slot so it made sense to go out readily dressed in semi formal wear which looks great in any case. I knew I made the right decision as normally some people make 2 changes of clothes in between shows and events depending on your schedule it can be quite hectic at times. Trust me I know from experience. My style generally has a monochrome colour palate but that’s just me I guess and sometimes I do like to switch it up a bit and experiment with different colours and textures. Other than that it really depends on my mood and how I feel on a day like today.

London Fashion Week

How’s your week been guys and I’m guesing you’re schedule is already crammed in the lead up to fashion week. Who’s ready for a long weekend of fashion shows, presentations and events as it’s now Saturday so we are more a less approaching the half way point of London Fashion Week. Since Thursday, I just could not wait for today’s show as Henry Holland one of my favourite Designers on the LFW Schedule debut’s his new Autumn Winter 2018 Collection.

I’ve been out since the early part of this afternoon for another show at the Freemasons Hall prior to House of Holland with plenty of time to relax in between shows which is quite rare during fashion week. Also, its Chinese New Year so I thought it would be great to have a spot of lunch and Celebrate with some Oriental Cuisine at Busaba Eathai. Happy Chinese New Year everyone and I hope it brings us all good luck and prosperity this year as well as happiness.

With that said it’s just my luck I found something to wear to the shows today and it’s all about nailing that weekend look starting with pairing your favourite smart casual separates together to form a relaxed off duty look. I’m a great fan of tailoring as it’s so versatile in updating even the simplest casual pieces transforming your look from day into night. Just admire this classic soft cotton jersey blazer from Calvin Klein Collection as worn by me to the shows today it’s really comfortable and effortless without trying too hard. I always suggest there should always be a compromise between style and comfort in most situations while on the go. After all it is fashion week and most likely you will be on your feet all day.

Joey’s Outfit (Day 3 LFW)

Blazer – Calvin Klein Collection

White Buttoned down Oxford Shirt – Polo Ralph Lauren

V-Neck Jumper – Ralph Lauren

Skinny Jeans – Forever 21 Men

Shoes – H & M Man

London Fashion Week Mens

How’s your fashion week been so far, I hope it’s been fun but what makes it most enjoyable is how much thought you can put into what you wear. For me it’s about creating a certain look and feel of the brand so I figured Belstaff has some really amazing leather jackets in their collections and should wear a leather jacket to the presentation of their new season’s collection and event hosted by Liberty of London. I’ve only just got used to the idea of adopting the leather jacket trend as every A-list Celebrity has been seen wearing one and only just the other day I manage to dig out this amazing leather piece I forgot I even owned which is by Emporio Armani. Maybe all those years I lost sight of it due to it being kept in self storage in between moving and I’m glad its back. I think leather more recently has become one of my prominent favoured staples to wear out at fashion week. Would you agree?

Joey’s Outfit (Day 4 LFW Men’s)

Long sleeve crew neck tee – Topman

Leather Jacket – Emporio Armani

Skinny fit jeans – Topman

High-Top Sneakers – Adidas

Sunglasses – Dior Homme

I just love street style especially when it’s spontaneous and you least expect it when a friend let’s you have a go with taking a quick snap with the camera. I’m just starting to get used to the idea but when your friends says she’s been doing what she does best as a musician it’s all about confidence. Barbarella’s new EP single in collaboration with legendary House Music Producer Nick Chicane is released this summer so I’ll definately have it on my playlist on repeat. The Track is called House Doe’s Your House Work – Chicane vs Barbarella. Your soundtrack to the Summer is here! Ibiza here I come…….
