THE TOP 7 SKI RESORTS FOR BEGINNERS AND FAMILIES IN EUROPE TO NORTH AMERICA

Booking your first ever skiing holiday as a beginner from where to stay and how to make the most out of your trip

By Posted on 0 Comments Location: , 3min read467 views

While a skiing holiday can be an exciting trip for all ages, it can be intimidating for a beginner skier to visit a ski resort for the first time. However, our insider knowledge will enable you to get the most out of your visit and, perhaps, leave you craving more. The top ski resorts for beginners have been hand-selected by us for your first skiing vacation.

Passo Tonale, Italy

Passo Tonale, located high in the Italian Alps, provides many peaceful, simple runs accessible by chairlifts close to the hotels. With access to 100 km of slopes that are well connected, Passo Tonale is one of Italy’s most incredible value ski resorts and one of its snowiest. There are many mild blues and reds and vast nursery slopes where beginners can gain confidence, and it is simple to navigate the area.

top 10 ski resorts for beginners

Tremblant, Canada

Tremblant is one of the top-rated ski areas on the East Coast. With few lift lines and relatively quiet long, wide routes at Tremblant, you can use all the room you need to practise your turns and be back up the mountain in no time. You may ski securely across the entire ski resort on relatively simple and straightforward slopes. The alternative is quite easy to navigate, as all the runs converge at this hub.

Obergurgl, Austria

Beginners and families are the main focus at Obergurgl, a superb high resort. Obergurgl is a beautiful, high-altitude resort catering to novice and family skiers. Before moving higher up the mountain for more challenging runs, practise your spins on the vast, treeless slopes to build confidence. There are two beginner sections, one at the bottom of the village below the Festkogel chair lift and the other in the town centre close to the Rosskar chair lift.

Arinsal, Andorra

Arinsal has been designated as a haven for newcomers. Visitors come here to begin their brand-new fascination with winter sports. The mountain layout makes it quite simple to find your way around the slopes, and there are lots of beginner-friendly slopes where you can practise those first turns and the crucial skill of stopping. So Arinsal is an excellent choice for beginners and improvers. The large, mellow slopes are helpful for beginners; there is even a designated area for families.

Les Arcs, France

Our ranking of the top European ski resorts for beginners and intermediate skiers includes Les Arcs. There is a lot of pleasant terrain at Les Arcs, and each area has several slopes with a low gradient and designated beginning zones for skiers. Les Arcs includes a free lift for novices and is a well-liked location for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. However, it is the best choice for beginners because it features beginner slopes over each resort’s main villages.

Tignes, France

As one of the top ski resorts in the world for beginners, we heartily endorse Tignes. This well-known ski area has something for everyone. For beginners, there are even no-cost practice lifts. There are several accessible runs and gentle slopes for beginners. The mountain station has a relatively broad area with slopes for slower skiers. You may practise your glide here thanks to the variety of easy nursery slopes. After you feel more confident, pick from various lengthy, cruisey blue runs to improve your stamina and skill. Because of its elevation, Tignes enjoys a more extended ski season than most ski areas, with excellent powder conditions into the early spring. Also, it offers a great selection of ski schools for skiers of all levels.

Cervinia, Italy

With the most consistent snowfall and conditions, it is the highest-altitude ski resort in Italy. With its short, snow-sure nursery slopes at resort level and plenty of lengthy, accessible courses to advance above Plan Maison, Cervinia is a great destination for beginners. A nursery slope is easily accessible from the village for those just putting on their ski boots for the first time. There are also a lot of options for ski schools. The number of easy runs accessible for those seeking to advance makes Cervinia ideal for beginners.

Although it can be overwhelming for a beginner skier to hit the slopes for the first time, these seven ski resorts are the ideal places for you to experience your first ski vacation.

Relax on pristine white sand dunes to exploring coral reefs and their marine wildlife or perhaps you’d like to experience the excitement of a jet ski ride off shore on an island tour excursion trail to spot some dolphins in the ocean.

Travelling to the Maldives couldn’t be easier as most major Airlines fly from London Heathrow or Gatwick with a stopover in the Middle East such as Gulf Air whom I choose to partner with during this press trip kindly sponsored my Falcon Gold Airport Lounge access both ways at Heathrow and Bahrain. Use of Gulf Air Airport Lounge is only exclusively available to Business Class and 1st Class passengers even more reason to book with them and collect air-miles points, including priority boarding which makes skipping the security line a breeze just one of the perks of being a business class ticket holder.

Some islands however can be reached by speedboat compared to those other islands located further afield which can only be reached by Seaplane or a domestic flight transfer. Foreign currency in the Maldives that’s widely accepted in the Resorts are US Dollars which is used mostly by foreign tourist on vacation here just to give you a heads up.

On my recent trip to the Maldives I had a 5 hour stopover in Bahrain with an enjoyable luxury experience inside the Falcon Gold Airport Lounge which made travelling long haul a lot easier during my itinerary. Inside the lounge itself it was contemporary, clean and relaxing atmosphere including all the essential amenities from smart phone charge points, golf simulation, a pool table, cocktail bar to the warm welcome from attentive staff members. Shower facilities were also available on site for ease of convenience when transiting through the airport to freshen up before your next flight.

There’s even a place to get some rest in the sleep pod area which includes a warm blanket and this includes a wake up call from staff to ensure you board your flight on time. Before getting some rest there are plenty of food and beverage options with an array of sumptuous cuisines on offer served in the Gulf Air main restaurant from light snacks to main meals. The kitchen can even make you a fresh pizza from the oven on request and the best part was they had a popcorn machine and gelato ice-cream which was delightful if you fancied a sweet tooth for desert after dinner.

Floating Breakfast in the Infinity Pool – Experience Adaaran Resorts by Aitken Spence Hotels

Adaaran Select Meedhuparu resort offers visitors the chance to enjoy a romantic floating breakfast with fresh baked pastries, fruit, a selection of cold cuts to cheese platters served with fresh juices and to top it all sparkling wine!.

I had my morning breakfast in a quiet spot of the Prestige Water Villas Infinity pool with a view overlooking our private beach and ocean, so it felt very private. This is ideal, especially if you’re on a honeymoon or enjoying a romantic getaway for two.

For content creators Meedhuparu Island is such a stunning location for Travel and luxury lifestyle destination photography. It makes it so much easier to create stunning imagery to catch the eye of even the discerning travellers looking for wanderlust inspiration. You can capture the most exquisite moments, ranging from tranquil evening sunset horizons with a whole array of colours in the sky, to vibrant blues in hues of the serene crystal-clear waters and skyline. Also, the subtle shots using foliage to provide mystery and intriguing shadows during afternoon strolls along the beach.

Adaaran Select Meedhuparu Resort all-inclusive Prestige Water Villa’s provides excellent luxury serviced accommodation equip with your very own personal Butler during the duration of your stay who drives you around the island in a golf buggy. Just one the delightful perks being a VIP guest which makes life that little bit easier and you get to take in some sightseeing along the way. Consider walking on foot too around the island is also an option. Expect a friendly warm welcome in a tranquil setting on the ocean, glorious weather, island wildlife, not to mention the sumptuous cuisine and sunset views that take your breath away.

Meedhuparu is set in a stunning secluded location for privacy and the weather is divine, exactly what you dream of on a cold wet windy day back in the UK. The Adaaran select resort has a water sports and dive centre with all sorts of activities available from stand-up paddle boarding, to see through canoes, surfing, snorkelling, scuba diving, jet skiing, banana boat ride to fun tube when you sit on an inflatable and get pulled along by a jet ski.

Theres even a catamaran for keen sailing enthusiast depending on the weather. I myself attempted the jetski and funtube where I used three cameras to capture the action: one camera captured the main action and two GoPro cameras in waterproof cases on my wrist and chest harness captured all my adventure on the water.

It’s been a fantastic adventure. I’ve learnt so much. The Maldivian people are lovely, very friendly, accommodating and welcoming. The resort is fabulous: lots of different accommodation to suit all preferences, lovely restaurants from pan-Asian fusion to Mediterranean, and bars to cater to all taste, whether that be a quiet drink in beachside bar or in a livelier bar in the bustle of things at a weekly beach party. You can order meals to your room, have a romantic sand bench dinner on the beach during the sunset and dine with elegance while you gaze under the stars.

A range of water sports is available at the resort such as snorkelling or sea bob snorkelling where you take an underwater mini submarine that helps you navigate more easily whilst swimming.

Apart from catering to thrill adventure seekers that love jet skiing, fun tubing, banana boat rides, or wind surfing you can try out various excursions and key attractions such as the evening sunset boat ride and fishing trips. What more could you want from a luxury holiday destination in the Indian Ocean?

Eco Friendly Hotels London

Traveling to London? Need to stay central? This eco-friendly, luxury apart hotel is located just 5 minutes walk from Waterloo Station

There’s nothing more satisfying than checking into a hotel for a holiday or mini staycation as it’s been a long while since I took an actual vacation. Just last week I headed to the Stow-Away Hotel in South Bank for that well needed staycation one evening. I’ve only managed to get away rarely this year due to the current global pandemic, so welcomed the chance to just get away and make the most of this opportunity to travel. The thrill and excitement of packing a bag once more seemed very appealing to me so I decided to jump on a train to the London Eco Luxury Hotel.

THE CULTURAL DISTRICT OF SOUTHBANK

(Gifted Press Stay) The hotel is location in London South Banks cultural district, built in 2018 on Lower Marsh Street in the dynamic cultural borough of Southwark. Southbank has seen creativity come alive from frequent fairs and witnessed historical events such as the hotels original land lot being bombed in WWII has been home to world class arts venues The Southbank Centre to BFI film theatre and National Theatre.

As you enter your room you feel the vibe exudes a decadence of luxury, functionality without compromising valuable space. Let’s not forget the hotels fully equipped serviced studio apartments to complimentary luxury toiletries from Molton Brown London specifically chosen due to their large refillable and recyclable bottles. Eco-Luxury, Sustainable functionality without compromising valuable space

Did you know at Stow-Away they have a heat recovery system that recycles the excess heat from the air conditioning system into hot water to help reduce overall energy consumption. It’s good to know that you can sleep comfortably with the aircon on knowing the excess heat is put towards your shower in the morning too.

I was immediately impressed upon arrival to the property with a friendly customer service team on standby and their keyless entry using a Digital App on your smartphone with ease.

I’d say the check-in process was seemingly easy to set up as your room number and booking details were issued by email before arrival and no waiting around which was ideal.

Contactless check-in upon Arrival for Peace of Mind

Using the App just open up the key screen by holding it up to the reader on the main front entrance or hotel room door to gain secure access. I stayed in room 203 on the 2nd Floor reachable by the main set of stairs or lift access to all floors. Prices for a Maximum of 2 persons sharing in the Apartments start from £98.10 per night.

I really loved the extremely comfy bed with ultra Hypnos mattresses – the Award winning makers of bespoke, handcrafted and sustainably-made beds & mattresses approved by the HRH the Queen. In hindsight the overall design aesthetics of the room sizes and layout during my stay were effortlessly sleek and contemporay.

But the main highlight of this room had to be the fully equipped kitchen for all your culinary needs as a home away from home. As this stay was personal to me to switch off and relax, I did just that by taking a rain shower and pamper myself with Molton Brown toiletries before bed in the walk in marble tiled bathroom. But, most importantly I wanted to comment how clean the apartment was especially at present where this is essential more than ever before.

I’ve never felt so re-assured with contactless check in, mask, relaxed social distancing rules in ground floor restaurant and bar ‘Unwind’ Pop Up at the Hotel to a spotless Apartment with fresh remote for Smart TV. Rest-assured a lot of careful thought has gone into implementing a solid covid action plan on their website to ensure all guest feel confident they are always protected. It’s so good to be back in hotels again whether you need to stay a for the night, a week, or longer duration, this contemporary eco hotel offers everything you could want to make your stay a pleasant one. I’ve already recommended Stow-Away Hotel to friends and family as a space to work and a space to relax for those interested in booking a Business trip to London? The eco Apartment studios are centrally located in London, which offer sufficient space to work, relax and enjoy.

THE BEST BEACH CLUBS TO VISIT ON THE MEDITERRANEAN THIS SUMMER | WHERE TO GO FOR A SWIM AND TASTE SUMPTUOUS CULINARY DELIGHTS

Things to do in Algarve

Portimao a beautiful scenic fishing town situated in the Southern Algarve region of Portugal is most famous for its local Arts & Crafts culture. It boasts the most pristine beaches, hotels, shopping, and cosmopolitan nightlife scene including an array of exquisite restaurants and bars.

The Best of Algarve’s Scenic Southern Coast

On the day I set off to Portugal I was very excited, despite the 6 am flight departure time from London Gatwick to Faro Airport I just could not wait to get there and enjoy the trip. My itinerary was well organised by the brand rep who handled the Beach Club’s PR so we knew it was going to be an enjoyable experience and find out more about what this exclusive destination had to offer international tourism in Portugal.

It boasts the most pristine beaches, hotels, shopping, and cosmopolitan nightlife scene including an array of exquisite restaurants and bars.

The Algarve’s impressive International Racetrack ensures an upscale and sophisticated city break similar to its Monaco counterpart bringing you the full Grand Prix Extravaganza experience. But, there’s so much more if you’re curious to find out and explore the wonders of the Algarve. Why not be amongst the first to join the jet set by putting Portimao on the map. It’s tipped to be the most Stylish destination of this summer competing with Ibiza, Mykonos and Montenegro.

Things to do in Algarve

Here are my suggestions for how to get there, things to do and where to go.

Portimao Airport is a regional private jet airport located in Faro. The option of traveling in style is also available where you can book your own private flight through a variety of Private Jet Operators to and from Portugal’s Southern Algarve. Alternatively, Easy Jet Fly’s to and from selected UK Airports frequently with competitive airfares into Faro Airport.

The brainchild of investor Maximillian White, Blanco Beach Club is the latest entertainment and experience driven venue to hit the shores of Portimao. If you’re seeking a lavish Hedonistic destination it’s a haven in paradise where white sandy beaches sit next to the idyllic turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Furthermore, the sumptuous sunken beach beds to the 5 star Mediterranean fusion restaurant offers the culinary delights of fresh sea food and sushi. If you fancy partying the the night away at the open air nightclub its open till late.

Blanco Beach Club is playing host to some of the biggest music artist and DJ’s in the music industry including Tyga and French Montana.

The Food and Drinks Menu here is excellent from the presentation of it’s food platters of sushi selection of sashimi, nigiri, California roll,  yellow tail and sea food with favorites freshly prepared by a specialist Sushi chef from Lisbon ex Nobu. Not forgetting the hospitality here is exceptional from its customer service to it’s well presented staff and friendly atmosphere. Sip on sumptuous cocktails from the restaurant menu and relax to summer soundtrack of deep house for a lazy afternoon before the sun goes down.

I really enjoyed the live PA set by Tori Lanez one evening upon my visit when the whole of the Beach Club transforms into a full service nightclub hosting the best exclusive DJ sets and music performances from acclaimed international Artist.

Please take a moment to admire the exclusive Beach Club’s venue and facilities situated on the Praia de Rocha Beach in Portimao’s newest addition to the Southern Algarve. If you love the vibe in Ibiza this will certainly take you’re fancy then I highly recommend giving this destination a try to kick start your summer of fun in the sun.

A STAY WITH ART HOTEL MUSEO IN TUSCANY | CULTURE & STYLE AWAITS YOU

OPERA ARTE RESTAURANT FINE DINNING & HOTEL REVIEW

So a few months back, Jenny and I were invited to spend a couple of nights at the elegant Art Hotel Museo in Tuscany and we of course jumped up the opportunity to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa on the way there. Situated in Prato province, this 4 star Tuscany hotel offers one of the best stays in the city, and has held a renowned reputation for Europe’s leading Textile Industries. We were offered one of their Classic Suites with views over The Contemporary Art Museum L. Pecci and access to their gym facilities to car hire service.

Tuscany Hotels

Let’s start with a little introduction about the hotel itself. Since it’s founding, Art Hotel Museo was born under the sign of Art both for it’s location in front of the Luigi Pecci the center of contemporary art, and has always held a very high standard or both service, and accommodation with plenty of guest facilities and food & beverage options including; close proximity to the history city allows visitors to enjoy art, design, fashion and shopping in numerous outlets.

“We offer all our guests comfortable and cosy rooms (106 rooms including 2 executive, 3 deluxe and 4 suites and our renovated Classic Plus and our Designer Rooms on 04th Floor) as well as functional spaces conceived and designed to offer complete satisfaction in a setting of total relaxation. Art Hotel Museo is not only the meeting point of reference in Prato but it is also an active and dynamic hotel in the area.”

From the Art Hotel Museo Website

Tuscany Hotels

I’ve got to say that this is one of the best hotel stay experiences we’ve had lately and the hospitality was outstanding. In fact second to none that we’d love to come back again soon. The rooms were very spacious including a separate walk in closet next door to the Bathroom with a modern contemporary feel inside the classic suite. Homely touches through out the whole hotel was so beautiful it was like an Art Gallery with a different theme on each floor. Me and Jen made good use of the Hotel Bar after a day of designer shopping Gigli Mall where we brought new outfits for Milan Fashion Week. The Hotel bar served all our Classic cocktail favourite’s from Aperol Spritz to Espresso Martini’s, fashion week here we come!

Tuscany Hotels

Fancy a sumptuous cocktail or fine glass of Tuscan wine after day of sightseeing and shopping, spot of lunch or formal dinner the hotel has something to cater to everyone with various food and drinks options at the in-house The Opera Arte Restaurant including room service in dinning menu looks delicious. You’ve got to try their ‘Traditional Italian Roman Pizza’ Pinsa Romana with it’s soft fluffy dough base mozzarella, tomato, basil my favorite here. But, don’t forget to try the fresh gelato ice cream served as a desert option is just divine the taste of mouthwatering fresh lemon after two courses.

Tuscany Hotels

Tuscany Hotels

Another delicacy you must try is the Authentic Spaghetti Bolognese made with fresh tomato sauce and wild boar mince instead of beef which we are so used to having back home so it was a real treat to try something new in Tuscany. It would be great to attempt this dish when I get back home as I’m always looking to improve my culinary skills in the kitchen and cooking is enjoyable too especially during the lock down period. I’ve taken the time to learn new skills and take up new hobbies like watching ‘YouTube’ cooking channels – looking forward to what cuisine I’ll attempt in the kitchen next.

We both really enjoyed our time here in Prato Tuscany and the staff management at Art Hotel Museo were so kind and accommodating to us it made such a real difference for our stay. This hotel is also perfect for business travelers equip with conference rooms as well as holiday makers looking for a relaxing stay on vacation.

The outdoor pool and spacious garden are ideal for a fun summer with pop up bar and the hotel is Pet friendly too.  For us, it was all about taking time to switch off from our busy itinerary of life in London before the start of Milan Fashion Week. We definitely made the most of it, so if you are after a short weekend break to take in some culture through cuisine, fine wine, dining and shopping then this would be the ideal hotel to check out what Prato has to offer.  I discovered that Prato is known as The Textile City throughout history portraying cultural significance of fashion to wine in Tuscany’s winery’s and vineyards is very intriguing for wine lovers alike.
