The inspiration behind the Topman Menswear collections aesthetics is ‘Modern Romantics’
For this seasons collection we headed over to Shoreditch at London’s Truman Brewry Building to preview Transition the exhibition presented by Topman Design which featured 5 collaborators, 5 films and an amazing preview presentation of Spring Summer 2018. These include works exhibited by model Nick Offord to Max Wallis amongst a few others to celebrate the 5 year anniversary at London Fashion Week Men’s.
The inspiration behind the Topman Menswear collections aesthetics is ‘Modern Romantics’ presented with a unique flair for fashion spirit and carefree attitude of the wearer.
When you think of who pioneered the New Romantics Movement you often think of Steve Strange, David Bowie, Duran Duran to Boy George during this era of popular culture that influenced music and iconic fashion trends.
Topman’s signature design concept is brought to life by referencing the past in order to influence the future was the theme for this seasons collection.
“@Topman #TopmanStyle“
It was evident the 80’s was paving it’s way for a comeback as I observed the way Topman Design styled their collection.
I did like a majority of the retro inspired pieces including separates such as cropped jackets, lux sportswear, tailoring and loose fitting silhouettes on high waist trousers accented by white, grey, black to stripes and abstract print details to proportions in the garments.
Modern Romantics’ presented with a unique flair for fashion spirit and carefree attitude of the wearer.
For the launch today I decided to wear a monochrome look which is simple but yet still understated to make a style statement and still look polished was exactly the look I was going for to capture the moment.
