NEW LOOK ‘BRITISH FASHION COUNCIL’ LAUNCH AT LONDON FASHION WEEK

Hi Everyone! it’s so great to be back in town from Summer Vacation and September is always a busy period as we make fresh starts, new opportunities and not forgetting it’s Fashion Week again in London. London Fashion Week kicks off to a great start with an invite from the British Fashion Council in Association with New Look Fashion where press and style influences gathered for evening of cocktails and canapes. To warm up the crowd on the dance floor the first DJ set of the evening started off with Rafferty Law followed by Radio / Presenter Mya Jama til the very end with a sensible curfew by 11pm as everyone had shows the next day.

Celebrities and Style Influencers include The Saturdays Rochelle, E! News Presenter Naomi Isted, The Telegraph’s Hilary Alexander and Britain’s Next Top Model Victoria Clay graced us with their presence as we enjoyed pre-drinks before the rally of shows tomorrow for DAY ONE of London Fashion Week.

So each season, it definitely can sometimes be a hard decision what you should wear to make a style statement with confidence even at a press launch. For an evening event it’s always great to have a blazer jacket at hand to dress up your outfit. Try matching it with a pair of smart tapered jeans but not too skinny as you want to get the fit just right and a dress shirt for a polished look.

Opt for a stylish accessory to finish off the look which my chosen favourite item are sunglasses form part of my signature look. I’ve mixed high street and designer items as follows; Sunglasses Prada, Black Jacket Linen H & M, Dress Shirt Dark Navy Polo Ralph Lauren, Leather Belt with Blackwatch Tartan from a selection at Ralph Lauren, and black jeans New Look Man.

The former Welsh RCA graduate was previously at the helm of Givenchy in Paris where he honed his craft and talent. Julien is a big name in British fashion and internationally working with Debenhams for a diffusion line STAR by Julien Macdonald to founding his own mainline label with countless A-list clientele who favour his designs from Supermodels to Celebrity Artist.

Julien Macdonald presents showstopping collections with every party outfit you could ever want just in time for the Oscars and Awards Season

His signature style is very much couture influenced with 70’s inspired silhouettes remembering the golden days of Disco reminds me also of Dynasty from the power dressing attitude days of strong confident women who appreciate the finer things in life.

Each collection is beautifully made and every fine detail you see in a garment reflects his skilled craftsmanship of couture techniques from intricate beading, sequins to Swarovski crystals, to diamante that gleam and shimmer in the blink of an eye is hard to go unnoticed.

Every season, Julien comes up with new innovative collections with every party dress you could ever want and just in time for the Oscars and awards season.

The collection was inspired by Surrealism and the metropolis landscape by Fritz Lang as models emerged down the catwalk.

You can expect high octane glamour from Julien Macdonald who brings to London’s catwalk this season all the excitement as it unfolds with Victoria’s Secret Model Leomi Anderson walking in the show. It was my first time attending one of Julien’s shows and what a great pleasure it was to see his work during London Fashion Week month. Here’s what was on show yesterday afternoon and the venue that hosted the event was gold inside too just like a palace off a film set helped create the mood for the catwalk.

Here’s a pre – show snap before the show to see for yourself. Julien’s collection is always one to look forward to every season so expect glamour and glitz nonetheless. I loved the atmosphere at the show today and was one of my favourite fashion week highlights.

The sport lux details for men were minimal and understated with gothic baroque influences and various textures of knitwear gave it some edge for rock star appeal made for centre stage. Even Men’s tuxedo silhouettes got a makeover fused with sportswear details which made it contemporary for a new look to wear as smart casual luxury. It definitely took men’s party wear to the next level should you be in search of wearing something cool and unique to your next event.

The signature PPQ Gabriel bag is back again this season but in leopard print and original signature patent.

Their signature style dna which the label is most notably known for was influenced by the British Music Scene and Percy’s background in music as a DJ and entrepreneur as owner of his independent record label 1234. Percy’s music label included Music Artist Peaches Gelfdof in Band Objects & Cosmetiques amongst a few others talents.

When PPQ London first set up the idea behind its great success was launched as a lifestyle brand which we know today to merge music, fashion and events including the 1234 Music Festival in Shoreditch.

Prior to meeting Percy, Amy’s creative flair for style was honed while studying fashion design preparing both young designers for a lucrative career as leading trend setters on the fashion scene. As acclaimed British Designers in London PPQ which count’s fans as A-List clientele to exclusive brand collaborations such as Ben Sherman and Very.co.uk

Each season, I always look really forward to see the new PPQ Collection being showcased during London Fashion Week as it’s always the hottest ticket in town if you’re able to secure an invite.

“@ppqlondon Est. 1992 Iconic British Designers”

For me it represents the iconic London Look with real British roots being founded in Shoreditch back in the day. At one point I do recall the label included Menswear on the runway and I hope they produce more lines as such in future to cater to male clientele.

This season PPQ returns with the self titled collection theme Purple Reign signifies the fashion labels signature style of rock and roll influences is still going strong from season to season.

Cascade colours of the rainbow clash as juxtaposed with edgy leather separates.

We can always expect lots of hype leading up to the show and the most iconic chic clothes and rock royalty alumni who fronted the labels skinny drain pipe jeans movement as their most iconic style staple.

PPQ London presents PURPLE REIGN  Autumn Winter 2016

This season the new collection was unveiled in a very private and intimate venue a church was the perfect setting with original Queen Anne style flooring like a chessboard reminded me of their former flagship store on Conduit Street Alice in Wonderland theme.

For Autumn Winter 2016 it was all about Biker Jackets with zip details, Pussy Galore Blouses, elegant evening gowns, leopard prints, mohair jackets, leather pants, leather mini’s, elegant ruffled dresses. My favourite signature piece was a siren yellow jacket with fur sewn into the hood.

Ensembles included Leopard print tees which were worn under jackets revealing skinny hot pants. Colour hues throughout the collection had shades of purple, lilac, black, yellows, turquoise blue worked well as a contrast together. In my opinion the collection always makes the perfect go to pieces for party wear and looks really fun and versatile to build a capsule wardrobe for fall season in style.

Styling wise it was about back combed beehive hair channeling the late Amy Winehouse and the signature PPQ Gabriel bag is back again this season but in leopard print and original signature patent. It’s no surprise that Celebrity Fans of the signature bag have all included Paris Hilton, Mischa Barton, and Kirsten Dunst on the red carpet. As always I really enjoyed viewing this seasons collection and really looking forward to see what’s trending next season.
