ICEBERG ITALY GETS READY FOR ITS TAKE OVER AT LONDON FASHION WEEK MEN’S

By Posted on 0 Comments Location: 1min read1716 views

So what do we know so far, Iceberg is a cult streetwear label from Milan and has been going strong since 1974 where the Italian Fashion House is known for it’s DNA of vibrant colour together with Long’s remix of iconic technical knits in casual silhouettes.

By looking at the London Fashion Week Men’s schedule it was one of the most highly anticipated shows to mark the start of Men’s Fashion Week and definitely worth waiting for.

London is known for its sartorial elegance and tailoring the focus was on street wear and sport luxe this season that dominated the Men’s Catwalk this week.

The inspiration for Iceberg’s SS 2019 collection made references to the designer’s Italian love of F1 where dance meets football London attitude that was reflected in the energy of the show. Theme’s in the collection explored the past with a vision of the future which emphasized the importance of equality that everyone is part of a winning team.

Long’s signature garment’s included quirky deep fried glitched graphics are hand drawn or collage interpretations on Peanuts, Joe Cool, and tone on tone logo’s which came down the runway. A playful use of texture in the way triple printed denim looks sparkle along with plastic-coated gloss knit Iceberg logo’s dazzle opponents off the sport arena.

Pieces that stood out for me in the Iceberg collection were versatile tailored jackets with snap fastenings for both menswear and womenswear worn over a classic white separates’ with hidden self colour logo woven into the fabric. Details such as Warhol flowers adorn across satins, 3D knit’s and football shirts that affiliate you with the fashion capitals of the world.

After the show, I hailed a cab to make my way over to the Kirk Original’s party at the Private White Store as we drove by the Strand I manage to get a glimpse of the Iceberg Model Squad in a parade as they passed by Somerset House, Trafalgar Square and ending at Piccadilly. It certainly stopped London Traffic by surprise as the high energy sports drinks colours of blue, green, yellow, pink and red shout Viva Italia as the Models walked straight off the catwalk onto London’s street’s. What a great PR Stunt during London Fashion Week Men’s that represented the new millennial generation of fashionista’s and revival of the label’s signature style.

THOMAS PINK GOES BACK TO BUSINESS AT LCM WITH RISKY BUSINESS INSPIRED PRESENTATION

Thomas Pink Presentation Spring Summer 2017 inspired by Annie Leibovitz 1992 Vogue shoot

Tonight the Thomas Pink Presentation at the ICA on Pall Mall just had to be one of my favourite highlights of the week. This season Pink’s LC:M presentation was inspired with a twist by the Annie Leibovitz 1992 Vogue shoot as male models sat on suspended chairs from the wall. Something different and remarkably unique which looked like great fun as the models seemed to be enjoying themselves and spectators alike were humored by the 80’s throwback to Risky Business movie staring Tom Cruise.

This was of course in reference to a combination of male models wearing boxers, shirts and tailoring to cleverly indicate it was SS 2017 with a bit of a tongue and cheek approach entertained all. The latest collection’s luxury apparel from tailoring, shirts, accessories including neck ties, pocket squares, cuff-links and men’s underwear took centre stage this season. Not forgetting the surprise VIP guest in attendance Model Toby Huntington-Whiteley.

Pieces on display evoked luxury and sophistication which the Pink is synonymous for creating immaculate shirting for the discerning man about town.

The iconic looks on showcase during the presentation for Spring Summer 2017 had formal and informal options to suit all occasions matched with boxer shorts to knee high socks were appropriate for the sweltering heat wave of a mid summers afternoon.

One of our favourite items has to be a luxury imperial classic 200s shirts, the double cuff Redmond stripe and made in England. Thomas Pink Shirts are made from renowned mills and exclusive fabrics where attention to detail is unrivaled. Traditional methods are used as well as time honored craftsmanship where the collars are hand turned.

PPQ AUTUMN WINTER 2016 READY TO WEAR COLLECTION | LONDON FASHION WEEK

Rock chick ensembles clash with cascade colours of the rainbow from ruffles to statement prints

By Posted on 0 Comments Location: 1min read935 views

The signature PPQ Gabriel bag is back again this season but in leopard print and original signature patent.

Their signature style dna which the label is most notably known for was influenced by the British Music Scene and Percy’s background in music as a DJ and entrepreneur as owner of his independent record label 1234. Percy’s music label included Music Artist Peaches Gelfdof in Band Objects & Cosmetiques amongst a few others talents.

When PPQ London first set up the idea behind its great success was launched as a lifestyle brand which we know today to merge music, fashion and events including the 1234 Music Festival in Shoreditch.

Prior to meeting Percy, Amy’s creative flair for style was honed while studying fashion design preparing both young designers for a lucrative career as leading trend setters on the fashion scene. As acclaimed British Designers in London PPQ which count’s fans as A-List clientele to exclusive brand collaborations such as Ben Sherman and Very.co.uk

Each season, I always look really forward to see the new PPQ Collection being showcased during London Fashion Week as it’s always the hottest ticket in town if you’re able to secure an invite.

“@ppqlondon Est. 1992 Iconic British Designers”

For me it represents the iconic London Look with real British roots being founded in Shoreditch back in the day. At one point I do recall the label included Menswear on the runway and I hope they produce more lines as such in future to cater to male clientele.

This season PPQ returns with the self titled collection theme Purple Reign signifies the fashion labels signature style of rock and roll influences is still going strong from season to season.

Cascade colours of the rainbow clash as juxtaposed with edgy leather separates.

We can always expect lots of hype leading up to the show and the most iconic chic clothes and rock royalty alumni who fronted the labels skinny drain pipe jeans movement as their most iconic style staple.

PPQ London presents PURPLE REIGN  Autumn Winter 2016

This season the new collection was unveiled in a very private and intimate venue a church was the perfect setting with original Queen Anne style flooring like a chessboard reminded me of their former flagship store on Conduit Street Alice in Wonderland theme.

For Autumn Winter 2016 it was all about Biker Jackets with zip details, Pussy Galore Blouses, elegant evening gowns, leopard prints, mohair jackets, leather pants, leather mini’s, elegant ruffled dresses. My favourite signature piece was a siren yellow jacket with fur sewn into the hood.

Ensembles included Leopard print tees which were worn under jackets revealing skinny hot pants. Colour hues throughout the collection had shades of purple, lilac, black, yellows, turquoise blue worked well as a contrast together. In my opinion the collection always makes the perfect go to pieces for party wear and looks really fun and versatile to build a capsule wardrobe for fall season in style.

Styling wise it was about back combed beehive hair channeling the late Amy Winehouse and the signature PPQ Gabriel bag is back again this season but in leopard print and original signature patent. It’s no surprise that Celebrity Fans of the signature bag have all included Paris Hilton, Mischa Barton, and Kirsten Dunst on the red carpet. As always I really enjoyed viewing this seasons collection and really looking forward to see what’s trending next season.
