LONDON FASHION WEEK STYLE DIARY: WHAT I WORE AT THE BEN SHERMAN SS 19 SHOW

London Fashion Week Style Diary

As a matter of fact I chose to pair a tailored jacket with weekend essential staples such as a  simple t-shirt for a smart casual look. Don’t be afraid to experiment with colour against other textures which can look great in contrast to one another. I felt today I wanted to capture the essence of Summer in London but with a resort sort of feel. Then to finish off the look I chose to wear a Ben Sherman Men’s Watch to support the brand as you do during the show to always lend support and appreciation for the Designers.

For instance, hence the t-shirt evoking a bit a bit nautical details as its’ all about being outdoors making the most of a sunny day in June. Alternative separates apart from your conventional light weight denim could be chinos also if you want to dress it up a little more depending on the occasion. I’m thinking style references with a hint towards such sporting events in the English Social Calendar this weekend at Polo in The Park Fulham. Never mind, I’m at Fashion Week anyway and that’s what I’m up to this weekend so it’s all work I’m afraid but grateful for the glorious sunshine to make the most of my Menswear summer separates a great reason to wear the out for the occasion.

Bohemian Festival Style was born at born at Woodstock

It’s back to Woodstock, the summer of 1969 style is trending this season and in which case you’re wondering what did they wear back then and how do you dress like them as Bohemian Festival Style was born at born at Woodstock. This music festival was held the summer of August 15th to 18th in Nineteen Sixty Nine on dairy farm in Bethel, New York.

The Music Festival captured the zeitgeist of the late 1960’s as the underground cultural movement and attitudes of bohemian festival goers as seen in the film Woodstock.

The Era where it was all about flamboyance and extravagance of Peacocks allowing men to pioneer a distinct and colourful dress sense.

Summer is already underway and I cannot help feel inspired by the looks coming down the catwalk as I witnessed rich pattern floral, vintage, and spring floral art patterns adorn garments.

Even the catwalks soundtrack echoed the genre of folk and rock, blue’s rock, hard rock, jazz fusion to psychedelic to progressive rock to set the scene for the collection.

A fresh summer palette saw traditional patterns revived for spring summer 2018

Retro looks form the essence of the sixties psychedelic peacock inspiration combining a contemporary twist to tailoring including deconstructed summer blazers, soft linen separates worn with printed shorts.

Key directional pieces of the collection such as suede jackets, hooded parka, relaxed drawstring trousers and gingham shirts looked great in shades of dark denim, claret red and soft pinks.

A fresh summer palette saw traditional patterns revived for spring summer 2018 in indigo, denim for outerwear, bolder hues of brick and tan teamed with classic stripes and checks.

This season’s psychedelic inspiration injecting a bohemian spirit into the collection.

While burnt sienna and pineapple on jerseys and shirting looked vibrant as contemporary silhouettes brought to life this season’s psychedelic inspiration injecting a bohemian spirit into the collection.
