Scottish Kilt

It’s already Spring so that means it’s time to start thinking about Wedding Season and already I can’t help feel excited there’s another engagement party and wedding to look forward to this time round. It’s also the perfect opportunity to meet someone new. Just a hint, that’s only if you’re in the market for being single. Who knows you might even meet Mr Right.

With that said you must always look your best and be well prepared for any special occasion such as a wedding in the most exquisite attire. Macgregor and Macduff’s team were very kind to invite me to their exclusive private view of the new collection at their London Pop-Up Store in Shoreditch.

There are 4,000 swatch fabrics to choose from and you can guarantee quintessential style with only the finest fabric textiles produced by The House of Edgar.

Luxury unique accessories were showcased as well as ready to wear tailoring and to my surprise the bespoke option of made to order clothing is available and formal wear hires too.  I’ve never come across traditional formal Scottish attire until now so I was definitely curious to find out more.

I recently attended a Scottish friend’s house party and trying Haggis for the first time during Burns Night intrigued me what it means to be a true Scotsman.  So why not learn to dress like one for your special day. Also, my love affair with Black watch Tartan began with an obsession after watching the cult teen classic Movie “Clueless”.

The tartan check fabric is so classic and iconic which still influences my style to this day as well as being very current and on trend. From Vogue Editor’s to Runway Designers, Catwalks from London to Milan tartan is everywhere and will never go out of style.

Having attended London Fashion Week lately it’s important to know the origin of style trends for instance Versace Autumn Winter 2018 collections was self titled the Versace Clan. Tartan is most certainly the biggest trend at the moment so it’s great to include classic staples like Black watch tartan in your closet.

In homage for the store launch I wore one of my jumper’s by Zara Man with a black watch tartan patch so I felt I really fit right in.  I really loved the small Scottish Sporan menswear bags made of wildfox, cow and mink hair to accessorise many styles of kilts in the showroom. To my astonishment and delight these had to be my favourite luxury must have items. I felt the array of animal fur bags could be styled to match my own Black watch tartan coat.

I have quite an eye for detail too so there was no harm in making a wish list of things to shop for in this instance. However I did come across a distinct military style jackets that’s worn usually for black tie occasions. I was thinking I could wear one of the jackets for fashion week as the ideal style statement piece to wear front row at shows or on the red carpet styled in my own unique way.
